Over 30,000 people in the U.S. suffer from ALS. Sometimes referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a devastating progressive neurodegenerative disease which destroys the ability to walk, speak, eat and breathe. Currently, there is no known treatment or cure for ALS. If researchers are able to gain a better understanding of and, eventually, a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, this will likely benefit research into related conditions like Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Alzheimer’s disease. <\/span><\/p>\n
