What is CAMC? The Cancer Association of Mercer County (CAMC) is a non-profit tax exempt organization, which became incorporated in 1997. It is totally local and independent with a Mercer County Board. CAMC was created solely for the purpose of helping cancer patients of Mercer County survive their disease physically, emotionally and financially. How is CAMC funded? Combined Charities Drive Corporate Donations Private Donations Memorials and Bequests Special Events: Wally Post Open Hopefest Family of Hope Services of CAMC Any Mercer County, Ohio resident with a diagnosis of cancer can receive the services of CAMC. These services include, but are not limited to: Financial Assistance after insurance and other benefits are utilized, CAMC will reimburse cancer patients for assistance with the following items: Transportation - financial assistance for mileage or volunteer drivers. Medications assistance in purchasing cancer related prescriptions or over the counter medications. Wigs/Turbans will be provided or financial assistance given. Nutritional Supplements provided with a doctor’s prescription. Prostheses, Ostomy supplies, and other cancer related expenses. Miscellaneous Expenses will be considered on an individual basis as related to cancer treatment. Purpose of CAMC To give service to cancer patients who reside in Mercer County. To provide information and referrals to cancer patients and their families. To support other cancer-related projects, which would have the approval of the CAMC Board of Directors.
