Children With Cancer Need A Ride

I lost my son to leukemia when he was 9 years old. For six years, he battled the illness and I saw that the moments he was happiest were when he was creating art, but too often, he was confined to creating in the hospital. That’s why I started Kids & Art - to connect children and families experiencing cancer with local artists and create memorable experiences. We have an amazing opportunity to take 36 children with cancer and their families to workshops in different neighborhoods that are far from their hospital, but need help covering the cost of transportation. The workshops we run are always local, not giving the kids a chance to get away from the area around their hospitals and doctors offices and experience another place. For $720, we can get 2 vehicles for 3 hours and bring 36 children with cancer and their families to a once-in-a-lifetime experience where they can create art, laugh, and just be kids. Everything we do is completely free for the families because many cannot afford an additional financial burden, while paying medical bills for chemotherapy and surgeries for their children. Whether we like it or not, kids do get cancer. We might not be able to take their cancer away, but we can definitely be there for them through their journey. We hope you will support the cause.
