Recycling Advocates

Recycling Advocates is Oregon's only citizen-based, grassroots group dedicated to creating a sustainable future through local efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle. We speak at community events, schools and business about the recycling, alternatives to toxic cleaners, recycling at events, product stewardship and more. We serve as a resource for recycling and waste prevention issues. We teach Master Recycler classes, train volunteers for education outreach in the community and facilitate presentations about recycling, earthwise shopping, alternatives to hazardous products and home composting. We advocate for environmentally sound policies by providing input to governmental committees and elected officials. We sponsor speakers at local and regional educational conferences and offer forums to discuss current environmental opportunities to influence policy on these issues. We produce a monthly newsletter with original articles on current recycling, sustainability and legislative issues.
