America SCORES

America SCORES is a national youth development organization that works in under-resourced communities, partnering with urban schools to provide a free, high quality, team-based program that integrates soccer, poetry, and service learning. Because soccer is an international and inclusive sport we use it as a tool to develop fitness, sportsmanship and leadership skills among diverse students. We then bring the students, as teams, into the classroom to discover their creative voices using poetry, a universal form of art. Those transformational experiences build students’ confidence to use their individual and collective energies to bring about change in their communities through service-learning projects. . America SCORES has programs in Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New England, New York, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, and St. Louis, Washington DC and West Contra Costa.
