About FACT - Focus on All Child Therapies
FACT (DBA Family, Adult and Child Therapies; legal name Focus on All Child Therapies) is an organization created in 1999 that is dedicated to enhancing the value, dignity and quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. FACT has had a remarkable history of serving children, adults and families who are living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. FACT’s programming array is based on the core belief that the most effective care is a balance of continuously evolving, cutting edge therapies combined with comprehensive family support. This creates a more holistic approach that allows children, young adults and those ready to live independently to get the most out of their lives. Additionally, FACT operates from a strength-based model rather than a model that operates on the principle of curing “pathology.” FACT’s mission is to empower individuals to make their own choices and experience life’s diverse possibilities and opportunities. FACT is committed to developing partnerships with the individuals served and their circles of support to strengthen each person to express preferences, realize their goals and achieve a lifestyle with full inclusion and integration in the social, cultural, economic and educational mainstream of their local communities. FACT has been providing services as a non-profit organization for over 16 years and before becoming a private nonprofit had 12 years of experience as a program of UCLA’s Neuro-Psychiatric Institute. FACT programs include Family Support groups, In-Home Parent Training in Behavioral Intervention, Community Integration Services and Parent Support Training. FACT has been providing services contracted by multiple Regional Centers in the categories of Customized Employment and Micro Enterprise, and Supported Living Services. In 2011 FACT created and began offering a community integration program called “GAP,” (Generating All Possibilities) that is specifically designed for young adults with Autism to provide community-integrated and supported hands-on experiences to assist in successful transition into adult life (work, volunteering, continuing education/higher education, vocational training, career development, independent living, etc.). Besides FACT’s services that are partially covered by Regional Center funding, the organization provides high quality Behavioral Intervention Services with Los Angeles Unified School District and has provided behavioral and clinical services for individual patients. FACT’s clinic currently has three licensed clinicians, two LCSW’s, one LMFT and a full-time BCBA on staff who provide clinical services for individuals with developmental disabilities and other co-existing mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression through psychosis.
