Global Nest Exotic Bird Sanctuary

The Global Nest Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a Federal Charity (EIN#: 46-3678413) dedicated to saving the lives of parrots coming from situations where they have been abused, become unwanted or their guardians have become too ill to care for them or have passed away. Many of the parrots in our care would have been euthanized if we did not take them into our sanctuary. Our birds are never adopted out; this is their forever home. There are very few places for people to turn when they have a parrot that they can no longer keep. We work with Law Enforcement, Animal Control for birds left behind after raids, arrests, reports of animal abuse, etc. We also work with Health Departments when a bird would be euthanized for biting issues. We dedicate ourselves to understanding the special needs and providing unconditional love for each one of these parrots in their safe forever home here at our sanctuary. We provide physical, emotional and psychological rehabilitation for each one of the birds here to understand and meet their individual needs. A big concern we have is the growing popularity of Parrots, as they are now one of the most popular household pets. Their specialized needs not being met can easily cause health and psychological issues leading to unwanted behaviors and self-destruction in birds. When their needs are unmet, it can lead to unwanted behaviors, creating more birds in need of rehoming, sanctuaries, rescues, etc. We know that the educational needs for a parrot owner is great and there is little information available to new parrot owners (especially compared to the information on dogs and cats) so, we also dedicate ourselves to providing education and consultation to anyone who contacts us, all free of charge. We hope our efforts will result in the best relationship possible between the companion bird and their person, thus preventing additional unwanted birds.
