Papas House - Nepal Orphans Home

Nepal Orphans Home (NOH) began in 2005 with a mission to attend to the total welfare of children in Nepal who are orphaned, abandoned, or not supported by their parents. NOH has three children's homes, known as Papa's Houses, and a college house for young adults in the Kathmandu Valley. Over half of the hundred children and adolescents cared for are former kamlaris, girls rescued from indentured servitude. Papa's Houses provides for the children's basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing, as well as schooling and health care, and administers to their emotional needs with love and compassion. Papa's House allows children to grow up in a nurturing environment where they can develop and realize their potentials. Volunteer Nepal, the NOH affiliate volunteer program, draws talented, compassionate people of all ages from around the world and identifies placements throughout Nepal that will benefit from the volunteers’ time, energy, and skills. In 2013 Nepal Orphans Home established the Chelsea Education and Community Center which provides vocational training, academic enrichment, and life skills workshops to Papa's House children and adult literacy classes to women in the nearby community.
