Project Experience for Youth

The goal of the Project Experience for Youth is to provide all 3rd grade students in Oxnard with a unit focusing on 3rd grade social studies and science content standards. The unit will provide experiences for students to take a train, boat, and bus to a variety of locations, including the ocean, Santa Cruz Island, the local mountains, a sit-down restaurant, the theater, a museum, and more. We will provide our students with some of the experiences that most middle class students have. Parent participation will be actively solicited. Parents will be educated about the importance of life experiences for their children and will be given suggestions for no cost/low cost family outings and activities and will be kept informed about community events for families. When funding allows, we will have camping trips for students and their families.
