About Will County Historical Society
The Will County Historical Society exists so that people and organizations may be connected to the rich history of Will County, Illinois. We are located in Lockport, Illinois, in the former administrative office building of both the Illinois and Michigan Canal and Sanitary and Ship Canal. Since 1970, our mission has been to preserve, catalog, and share the many artifacts and stories that tell the rich history of Will County, Illinois. We feature many exhibits throughout the year focused on the historical stories and culture of Will County, Illinois. We also feature our newly developed Heritage Village, featuring multiple 19th century buildings from around Will County.
