About Disabled Children Want To Play
Sara's Garden Do you remember what recess was like when you were in school? For most kids, it’s their favorite time of the day. Unfortunately, many disabled children do not have the opportunity to experience recess the way their peers do... especially during long, cold winter months when it's difficult to navigate snowy and icy paths or simply too cold to go outside. Our goal is to create a truly inclusive, indoor playground that goes far beyond ADA compliance and is designed to encourage children of all abilities to play with one another. One that addresses the needs of typically developing children, as well as children, with neurological, intellectual, and physical disabilities. With this $1,000, we can purchase a slide for this exciting indoor playground project. Just because a child has a disability, does not mean their need for play is lessened. They possess the same natural desire to play and use their creativity as their brothers and sisters, but do not always possess equal opportunities and access, as is the case with most indoor playgrounds. Support our cause to help give every child a chance to play.
