Educational Supplies for Disadvantaged Children in Cambodia

The Friends of the Orphan Children Organization (FOCO) is an NGO started in 2010 by Em Ra to provide support to some of Cambodia's poorest children. The children usually end up with the program by one of two ways - either by losing both parents or being in a single parent household where the solo earner cannot make enough to support the child. FOCO's staff and donors have provided education to over 100 children over the years, with 26 children (aged 4-17) currently in residence. On top of regular schooling, the children also receive supplementary classes in English language and art to provide better opportunities in their career after they leave. The main focus for the funds raised will go towards basic food costs for the children and educational supplies. While the children have some older model computers to practice typing on, they lack internet and computer programs. FOCO also has a library of donated books, though the majority focuses on a K-5 reading level. A portion of the funds will go towards purchasing books at a higher reading level to better challenge some of the older children. Thanks for checking out our cause and supporting!
