OUR MISSION: To strengthen communities and promote gender equality through the local production of feminine hygiene products and the promotion of menstrual health and consent education. OUR VISION: To transform the stigma against menstruation and the deficit of women’s opportunity into the creation of sustainable business, eco friendly solutions to equal education, and the promotion of positive gender roles in the community. Oyana International has partnered with 'Strong Lifted', a women's center based out of Arusha, Tanzania which runs daily educational workshops and medical outreach programs for women affected by HIV/AIDS. Your donation will go directly to the women of 'Strong Lifted' for the production of Oyana International 'Period Packs". Our Period Packs are then distributed to schools, orphanages, and tribal villages. Distributions are coupled with the "Oyana International Women's Health and Empowerment Curriculum". This 45 minute lesson provides information on the menstrual cycle, the value of consent, the facilitation of gender equality and empowerment exercises, and much more! TOGETHER we can break the STIGMA! Oyana International provides a multifaceted solution by creating a sustainable business program for the women of Strong Lifted in order to provide local women with the products they need to continue their education, provide for their families, and uplift their communities!
